audigy 2zs problems
I have a problem I hope someone can help with.I recently purchased an emachines t6520 computer. The computer has amd 2.4 ghz processor and 1 gig of ram and I installed a pci-e radeon 800 xl 256 mb of ram graphics card. The computer ran call of duty at very high graphics flawlessly until,I installed an audigy 2zs creative labs sound card. Now it locks up after 5 minutes or so.The computer I took that card out of also locked up only longer time frame and it was an older computer so I did not connect the two.I am almost certain this is now the problem as I have read many sad stories on internet about the card.I could not find the onboard sound in bios to disable it so I tried to disable it in hardware profile and I thought that I had a clean install of the drivers for the audigy but the problem persists. The system has windows xp media edition 2005 installed and I do not want to move the card to another pci slot as this would almost block the cooling fan on the x8oo graphics card.I installed the drivers off of the cd which by now are old drivers but creatives website is confusing about the drivers it lists the driver and also an eax upgrade.Does it matter which one I download first or do I need them both?I would like to get this soundcard working as I bought it when it first came out for 150 dollars and I have 5.1 speakers and the onboard sound will not power the subwoofer and I believe is only 2 channel.Any help would be appreciated.
