Default Post Audigy Driver Troubles

Have any of you guys ever had an Audigy or Creative card under Windows XP and then, right after installing the drivers, not been able to start windows because of a bsod that appears right when windows starts? If so, has it ever ruined your installation of windows?

I'm just wonderin cuz it happened to me for the second time today...

Do you guys think it may be because of Windows File Protection?

Dunno, I've had stuff like that happen with the Audigy and 98 (non-SE) but nothing related to the Audigy and XP, what drivers u using? I'm using the Compaq leaked ones.

I fixed it. It wasn't an Audigy driver problem. It was windows file protection. I noticed after I turned it off that Windows prompted me about certain files being overwritten that otherwise would not have been overwritten. I just kept pressing OK. After that, it worked fine .
