Audigy 2 ZS - Equalizer doesn't work ingame

Hello,

i got an Audigy 2ZS. I modded it to audigy 4 by You-Pax Softmod

But i got following problem.

I play americas army, which is based on Unreal 2.5 Engine.

When i activate equalizer all works fine in windows - such as playing music or dvd.

When i start the Game the eqalizer gets disabled and i got standart settings.
If i try to start equalizer while game running it says that the Card is already in use.

What i want: i want to set equalizer for best sound ingame

Please help me

I WISH I had an answer for you BUT I am here seeking an answer to very SIMILAR problem.
I have the Audigy 2 ZS installed and every Equalizer Program that I have had before (Soundstorm) when you Enable them and set them - they STAY that way until YOU disable them. I have found that that is NOT the case with tis "high techie" piece of equipment - I Enable it, set it up the way I want, Close it, and it DISABLES itself. Thus - it is NO use for Gaming at all the way it is anyway.

I plan to try Enable\Setup\Minimize to Desktop and then start a Game and see IF I can tell the difference - have not tried that yet.

Can someone PLEASE help us with this dilemna?

From my past experiences, games that use strictly EAX (the effects where u hear echos in hallways, etc) will not playback the sound properly if your audigy eax equilizer is enabled. The only solution to this is to disable the equilizer when playin such games. World of Warcraft is a great example, however if you change the sound settings in its cfg file telling the game to use regular direct sound mode instead, then the EQ will work.

Regular directsound, direct sound 3d games will work with your equilizer enabled. It's the EAX reliant games that don't... it's creative's fault not yours..

so basically if u want your equilizer settings to work in sum of those games, you gonna have to go into the game options and set the sound mode to Directsound, NOT EAX... sad but true

Interesting fact is, that in games supporting EAX4.0 the same equalizer works flawlessly and also its settings can be changed dynamically by game.
