Using Digital Output with my Audigy: How?

Hi:

I would appreciate a small tutorial in how to use the Digital Output from my Audigy 1 (using Audigy 2 software) to connect my speaker system. I'm lost about some aspects such as spdif, digital output, AC-3 pass through, Dolby/DTS Decoding, etc etc etc.

Questions:

SPDIF <=> Digital Output?
Does Audigy decode DTS or just Dolby?
What does mean AC-3 pass through?
How looks like a digital conector to use from my Audigy to my speaker system? (regular stereo plug?)

Thanks in advance

1. Go to surround mixer
2. Go to speaker settings
3. Make sure "use digital sound only" is enabled
4. Connect your reciever/decoder to the spdif out of the audigy
5. Connect your speakers to your decoder

All done

Audigy only decodes Dolby 5.1, but if you want to use digital output, the decoding is left for your decoder to perform. So if your decoder supports DTS/Dolby decoding, then you're all set and don't have to worry.

yes, spdif is digital
AC3 pass through means that it can send your digital information directly to the decoder.
yes, the spdif plug looks similar to a stereo plug (not like an optical plug)

i have this problem as well... i think the A2 drivers do disable spidf passthru for the A1. Because powerdvd used to work with A1 drivers but now they don't... anyone have a fix? I have the dtt 3500 also and i already tried going into the audiohq and under the decoder option, changed it to SPDIF passthru...
