Big Grin .1144 drivers available for X-Fi - installs fine to Audigy 2&4 too!!!

Driver version. 2.07.00.0004-5.12.1.1144

These drivers are for X-Fi but installs without pain to Audigy cards too (w2k & XP).

Download SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_07_0004.exe from Creative X-Fi support.

Install instructions for Audigy cards:

Extract the installation package to your harddisk and locate and execute the ctzapxx.exe
found on path shown below.

Select options shown on another picture below.

Path for 32-bit ctzapxx.exe.

Settings on installation.

Yes, thanks. It looked like another update for my Aud2ZS,
but since my current 1162s are newer anyway... bah.
I'll stick with my verified-to-work betas.

Thumbs Down! Don't even think about it

You will screw up if you install this driver over your current one whatever you are using. I checked this out on my second computer and it really messed up. A word of caution, don't get ready to upgrade unless and until you have read positive responses.

What about uninstalling, using DC in safe mode, and then installing these??? How did your other computer screw up?

Yes I uninstalled the previous driver. But these drivers shut off the sound completely, Add to this my THX console and EAX vanished, because it was giving me error message. Enough is enough and therefore I took the liberty to post my experience in this forum. It is entirely upto the members to experiment if they choose to do so.

Losing THX and EAX has always been a side effect of installing these drivers on A2. You can get around it by using Creative Audio Console, it just means you cant use the horrible creative bloatware. You will still get EAX

To me, these drivers works fine with sb0244 on w2k system !!
After installed the package, my computer hanged (like normally does with creative driver installations) on first boot but no other issues here.

Would those errors come from XP and not from driver itself?

Maybe nobody noticed it, but Classic Leon checked in and said they will work with your card's soon. He doesn't mean they'll magically start to work, but that he's adapting them for another release of his.

So, just wait a while and he'll get all the software working with it.

That guy is amazing. And I'm rather surprised that Creative is being nice about all this and not behaving like Microsoft often does. Threaten, buy off, or sue the pants off the programmer then steal his technology.

So don't bother with these yet. Wait for Classic Leon.

Heh, heh. I see your point.

Let someone else work on making newer drivers and software compatible with older cards and then they don't need to. It's like they have kX folks and uPAX folks working as software developers for them for free.

Still, they're probably not too crazy about all the ISO's floating around of the hacked and original installation cd's they'd rather sell, and also that contain codec technology they have paid for and licenced only to folks who buy the cd's from them whether in the box or by calling and ordering them. That was the main point of their not posting the full software packages to download, besides the bandwidth.

Thank goodness they're not putting up a stink about it. These mod's and fixes help lots of folks.
