CMSS 3D Problems
Hi,
Recently I have some problems with my CMSS 3D. I'm using the Audigy4 iso provided in this website. FIrst of all, I always have problems installing the iso.Whenever the installer starts installing the speakersettings, there will be errors saying that the files failed to be registered. All others installed properly. The next problem is more irritating. In the past, whenever I enable the CMSS-3D, the sound will change. When CMSS is off, music will only come out of the front 2 speakers, only when CMss or CMSS2 is used will the music come out from the rest of my 5.1 speakers. However, nowadays, even with CMSS off, music is still coming out of my rear speakers. Also, I don't hear any difference between CMSS2 or Stereo x2 any more. Last time the difference is very profound. Also, when sliding the stereo focus of the CMSS or CMSS2, there is no change in the sound at all. It was not like this in the past. I've tried installing pax1.02, the creative official drivers, and the newest pax-fi drivers and the problem still remains. Tried changing slots and still the same. Reinstalled windows and same things again. Pretty clueless now. Third problem is, it seems I never succeed in installing the music edits of the youp drivers. When installing music edit I or II, the device manager will say drivers not installed. Manual install does not help either. However, there will be no problems installing the drivers if I select Game/DVD version. Happens to all youp drivers released so far. My setup is Windows XP SP2 Intel 2.4C, MSI 865PE Neo2 Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum Hauppauge PVR350 Actually I only noticed the CMSS problem after I installed the Hauppauge PVR-350. I'm not sure if the problem existed before installing that. However, I've tried removing the Hauppauge card and the same problem still exist. Is it a problem with my Audigy2 card?

Thanks but I don't think that's the problem. I've just realised something. I think it's got to do with windows media player. The problem I've stated above only exist in WMP. If I play my music files using winamp, I will not have such problems. This is very wierd......

Solved the problem. The problem lies in my AC3filter codec. Somehow it takes over as default decoder for my mp3 and wmas. Once I uninstalled it, the problem went away.
