Nvidia nforce trouble
Hi, I have no idea what happened, but I can no longer get my sound to work. In device manager it looks up to date, but when ttrying to play music it says,"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there might be a problem with your sound or video device. Try installing an updated device driver." But, it is my audio. I have tried updating audio drivers and nforce drivers, nothing works. When running application such as hl2 it says memory cannot be read. I run win xp sp2, abit nf7 nforce2. Anyone have an idea?

I did system restore, and i got the realtek audio drivers, sounds works, but i still periodically get an error. In hl2 I get faulting application error after about 5-10 minutes of play everytime.

make sure you completely uninstalled the nvidia sound driver, I know they can give plenty of headaches.

Thanks for the suggestions, still no luck. This is the error I get,
Faulting application hl2.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module datacache.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00008a27. Maybe its not related to audio, but with my last post it sure looked like it. |
