I just bought an audigy 2 card (since for some reason, when I purchased my Logitech Z5500 speakers, the onboard sound card never worked with all the speakers, long story, but the AC97 software kept switching all the outputs and I never got it to work right, so I figured a new sound card and software would help), and I am trying to get it to work on my IC7-G mobo without success. I get the error code 10, "This Device Cannot Start", when I look at my hardware list under "system". I made sure to go into my BIOS and disable the onboard sound in the PCI settings, and removed the AC97 stuff from my hardware list. I also tried the drivers on the CD as well as brand new drivers from Creative's site, and I get the same message. Is it because the computer still thinks I have the onboard sound card, or is it just my motherboard? I don't see how something so simple has turned into such a pain in the ass.
I played with IRQ's, and no luck still. I don't get it. I put the Audigy on it's own IRQ as well. I can't believe it. All I wanted is my damn output/speakers to work properly. I don't even care about quality. Any ideas here?
