??? AC3 pass through with SQ1500 & WinXP

Plz help!

Any ideas about how to get AC3 output from Aureal SQ1500 with Windows XP.

When I use winxp drivers SPDIF works correctly (I hear all sounds on my Yamaha external reciever), but it looks like windows doesn't know about presence of SPDIF, so no programm can use it.

System Specs

I am afraid there is nothing that can be done, since drivers for these cards are bad and included with Windows...

Quote:
Drivers for all Vortex-based audio products are included with the Windows XP operating system - both Home and Professional versions. It is recommended that you use these drivers only, and no others. For more information on supported audio products under Windows XP, please refer to this link.

(Note: Microsoft has since updated the drivers for the Aureal Vortex-based sound cards and put these new drivers on the Windows Update site. User feedback has been negative in regards to these new drivers, so it is recommended that you not update to this new version.)

These drivers support digital audio, DirectSound, DS3D, A3D 3.0, MIDI (via DirectMusic), the wavetable header, the joystick port, and S/PDIF Out.

The drivers do not support EAX, A3D 3.0 reverb, or S/PDIF In.

There is also no Control Panel provided. However, a replacement has been created by Chris Day that works under WindowsXP. It can be downloaded from his site.
Everything told here.

Update:
You can try checking this page, especially this part.

I've tried all things that you mentioned above, but problem still exists:
I play movie (with Windows Media Player 6) which contains AC3 soundtrack.

Then in AC3 decoder (AC3 Filter) i choose 2 channel mode everything seems to be perfect - SPDIF works.
Then i try to set SPDIF as decoder's output - decoder crashes.

Then I use InterVideo AC3 decoder - it says that there is no SPDIF in the system ("SPDIF/digital output" radiobutton is disabled).

I've also tried Control Panel created by Chris Day - nothing changed.

Are there any other issues that could solve my problem?
