X-Fi Sound problems PLUS FIX. please read

Hi,
today I suddenly notices a static sound coming from my speakers .. IE soundcard. I did have the volume on loud but I never heard it before. The sound was something like a
wwwwwwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

put the volume on VERY EXTREMLY LOUD and you will hear it on any soundcard, its static. However the sound dissapeared when opening closing windows, and when running ati tools 3d windows the sound changed pitch according to what was happening and CPU usage. I was confused cause I never had this problem before. I switched the game mode and the problem was gone!?
Switched to Creation mode and the problem was also not found.
Went to Entertainment mode and sure enough the pitch sound was back!
Restarted.
same issues. Changed my settings in Entertainment mode and the problem would not go away.

Pressed the DEFAULT tickbox on the right hand side in the entertainment mode and VOILA the problem is no more.

Bit of an odd problem but you sure as hell know what to do now if you suddenly get static sound from your X-Fi.
Very odd, kinda interesting, but luckily fixed in 2 Seconds if you know how.

System Specs

alot of the static is caused by components in the computer working, hence why different actions affect different things

the different modes of the x-fi probably use different paths/components/filters on the card hence why some modes would be affected more so than others
