Maudio Revolution 7.1 released

Newegg.com apparently has them via phone order.

I'm still looking to pickup this card as well. However, my friend with the DMX Fire might just sell me his card. I received another email from M-Audio about ASIO 2 support which states their will be full control of it in it's control panel.

For one thing it's the price. It's cheaper than the Audigy 2 and has way better specs. Another thing is who it's made by; M-Audio has a great rep. It would be like BMW making a car that costs around $15K fully loaded in the states.

There is still something weird about this card I need to research:
M-Audio Revolution 7.1 (out_ds 2.2.1 in Winamp2)
Certified: yes
Emulated: no
Supports sample rates from 32000 Hz to 192000 Hz
Supports continuous sample rates: yes
Hardware memory: N/A
Hardware mixing: unsupported
Speaker setup: stereo

Audigy w/kX (out_ds 2.2.6, but I hope you can still compare)
Certified: yes, emulated: no
Supports sample rates from 100 Hz to 191999 Hz (continuous)
Hardware memory: N/A
Hardware mixing: supported, 63 free streams (64 max)
Speaker setup: 5.1

This Revo doesn't have HW mixing? Has only one HW stream??? Weird... I am going to e-mail M-Audio right now... I got some questions...

Hello,
I am interested about one thing.
This is what Winamp 2.81 DirectSound info says about Revo 7.1.

Certified: yes
Emulated: no
Supports sample rates from 32000 Hz to 192000 Hz
Supports continuous sample rates: yes
Hardware memory: N/A
Hardware mixing: unsupported

I want to know why Hardware mixing isn't supported and why can it accept sample rates only down to 32000Hz (I guess it should be able to resample lower ones)?

Thanks for your support.

Actually, M-Audio still hasn't replied, but Keith Kowal from VIA Technloogies was very quick... check this out if you want to know... please post a comment, I feel kind of ignored after writing such a long post and not getting any comment?
So, DigitalConnection has them, they can ship to Europe too... and I am afraid that in Europe you will not be able to get this card - get TerraTec Aureon 5.1 Sky/7.1 Space instead.

Huh... simple explanation
DigitalConnection SHIPS to EU - so, you CAN get it.
But if you don't want to buy it shipped, but in store, go for TerraTec Aureon 7.1 Space.

Whats the difference if any? I gotta make a decision this weekend at the latest, so if you can point me to good review of the challenger, will take a peek.

Thanks

Revo is cheaper than Aureon 7.1 - I can't tell you the difference because these cards are quite new at the moment.

Thanks RIV@NVX,

did a google and had a good look at the card. Seems very good, and only slightly more expensive than the rev 7.1.

In your opinion, the rev 7.1 is a better buy than say the audigy 2? I have been reading so much about the rev 7.1 its kinda engrained in me head.

Thanks for the feedback though, appreciated

Revo is definitly a better buy than Revo 7.1, and Aureon is good too - don't know about it's price.

Revo and the Mixman Stdio coupon

In case anyone that bought the REVO and couldn't download this software with the coupon, it will be available from the website on the coupon next week sometime. They are updating the Studio engine and should be ready next week. This from an email from Robb at m-audio. Thought I'd pass the info along.

Revolution 7.1

I have a Revo 7.1 currently and I am having problems playing Mp3's using Musicmatch 7.5, trying to play in Circle Surround II (5.1 setup) the rear surrounds are very garbled and tinny. I thought maybe my files were bad, but these same files play fine on my Audigy1 (using Audigy2 drivers) with CMSS3D selected (5.1 setup). Some files don't even provide a rear surround output using the Revo 7.1, but all play fine using the Audigy1. I bought this card to use as a music jukebox card as I have about 70g of Mp3's. Anyone else had this problem?
