5.1 sound system....:S:S

Hello.
I have a 5.1 surround system, the fing is... its like all the speakers are on at the same time, so basically 3 stereo speakers in the front and 2 in the back.
My brothers 5.1 system: the back speakers make it sound surround, so they dont have all the detail in it, except mine does.
I have the HiPoint SP-999/5.1.
Any way to change it to the same as my brother's?

It's to do with your soundcards upmixing features, surely?

Creative cards use CMSS. Some onboards just don't do it.

i got an audigy sound blaster.
but somfing is wrong with it so, its now known as "Emu10Kx Audio[C800].
should that be the problem, my brother jus uses a onboard sound card.

do you by chance have the KX drivers isntalled?


Thats the right card ID if so, as creative's audigy chips do go by another name under the table
