Audigy LS - Karaoke panel issues...
Hey guys...
Thread title kinda explains it, i'm having some issues with the Karaoke section of the EAX Settings Control Panel with my Audigy LS. I'm trying to enable the pitch control option, but whenever I do, it ticks the option as enabled, but leaves it greyed out so I can't change it. Now, I can't see why this shouldn't be available on my card, my fricken' onboard audio can more than happily make Karaoke-Pitch changes Via the Realtek Sound Effects panel. Is this just another bit of bait-and-switch on Creatives behalf? Or is there some way I can enable this (honestly...if my onboard software audio can do it, surely this Audigy can, even if it isn't a true Audigy 2 in any sense...it's still hardware accelerated). Otherwise, is there ANY other way to enable the pitch controls (perhaps by doing it via some other kind of control applet?). Really want to change it, thanks guys! Oh, by the way, i'm using the 'Audigy Pack' that was posted in the 'Mod your Audigy 2' thread near the top here. But that thread's changed so much I have NFI if the link to the version of the apps i'm using is even still there (just in case anyone wanted to find out what version of the EAX console and such i'm using. I'm using the absolute latest Audigy LS drivers from Creative's site anyway...). Also, while i'm at it, does anyone know of any other drivers for Audigy LS cards (such as the Youp Pax series) other than the official Creative drivers? Thanks for any help!

I also would like to be pointed in the right direction regarding driver modding and performance increases for the Audigy LS.
Are Audigy LS cards able to be driver modded in exactly the same manner as other Audigy and Audigy2 cards (such as the Youp Pax series) or are there compatibility exceptions and issues with the LS card? Thank you. Last edited by JAGUART; Mar 1, 2006 at 02:58 PM. |

Old thread...I know. Figure it was best to bump than start a new one.
Still wondering...does anyone know of a way to enable the karaoke functions for the Audigy LS' EAX Control Panel? They're greyed out which is a real bummer.

I believe you need MediaSource installed to use those functions.

After doing some digging into the help files installed along with the EAX console, there is mention that Mediasource must be installed. However, I also got the impression that in that case, the effects would ONLY apply to items playing in mediasource. Regardless...surely there is SOME way to enable pitch control for Audigy cards. It's a pretty simple effect, and as I mentioned way back...if my old software audio can manage pitch control, then SURELY a hardware accelerated Audigy can do the same, if not clearer or such. So, outside of the EAX Console, is there anything that can actually adjust output pitch? I just really want this feature :P |

Actually sadly Audigy LS's are not Hardware Accelerated per say. They dont have a real APU like say an Audigy 2( I know I bought 2 for mine and my wifes machines) they are a weird "bastard" card thats not much better than onboard sound because they are still using the CPU to handle the processing.
