System Specs

hardware-wise the connections appear identical, however i'm not sure on how the software will work… some users have claimed the pins25/35 bridge that unlocks the AD_EXT on the audigy 2 x cards doesn't work on the x-fi, however that's only for using some of the pins, maybe using the drive would work…

imo it's quite possible we'll have another live/audigy situation, with hte live drive working on the audigy and vice versa, but with creative saying no (they want our money)

I have tried this and it does not work. I used my zs drive with my xfi and it did not reconize it. The cables are identical though.

I/O Drive fro Audigy Ex Pt does not work wit X-fi

Hi:

I tried to hook up the I/O Drive from an Audigy Pt EX to a X-Fi Extreme card and it does not seem to work. The software seems to recognize that the card is an Extreme with no external I/O drive. I think if I could get the software to think it was a X-fi Pt, it may work. I have looked on the web but haven't been able to find any information about how to get this to work. I suspect that there may be a way to do this as SB sells an upgrade I/O drive for X-fi extreme cards.

Anyone have any ideas?

Muon
