Modded file for x-fi installer cd for hp and other oem cards

Couldnt find any info on this ,so i spent some time figuring this out myself.
HP OEM cards will not install with the retail x-fi cd so here is a modded file with extra device id's that makes it work, you may find other oem cards that wouldnt work before will work as there where 4 extra device id's i found in the web update driver to make this possible.
You need to obtain the x-fi installer cd and then grab this file ,instructions are included http://homepage.ntlworld.com/chris_f...tall%20mod.zip

x-fi xtreme music hp oem no microphone

i have a hp oem xtreme music as well

the official drivers seems works fine

except I can't use the microphone jack port at all

no signal detected when a microphone is plugged.

the other problem is unless i untick the 'automatically mute speakers' option, the speakers are always mute

tried your modded driver but not working

any solution???

thanks

Which microphone port do you mean (the FlexiJack connector found on back of the card or the one found on PC case front)?

hi there
I can confirm even with the proper hp driver that the flexijack doesnt work as a mic port ,only line in or digital out
The mute problem i can also confirm , it does this if you use the creative web update driver as well , only the hp driver seems to stop this .

Just to clarify, in the instructions it says you have to create a new CD with the mod inbedded in it, is this necessary? As i've tried it with a downloaded version of the CD and tried to run it with the mods from harddisk but to no avail!

ALLO!, wow some people who have done exactly as me, I also purchased from Paulina Sales, and I think I have a duffer. I got the driver CD and Installed the card but no sound. I tried to You-Pax drivers and then I tried this moded install ISO with no luck. And still no sound, any one else had this problem. I am trying to contact him to send it back and get an exchange. Or does anyone have the solution to this dilema of no sound, Disabled on board. Updated bios. Tried every suggestion I could find on forums. It all installs ok and tried re-formating. But no sound.

Ok I got it, it wasnt a diff OEM. The problem lied in that I needed to install it using this moded ISO and then in the Creative volume pannel disable in speaker and headphone Automaticaly enable headphone setting, and Automaticaly mute speakers

And wala I have beautifull sound coming from my X-Fi after 2 weeks of trying.

Grimmyn is on a distinguished road

New OEM PC soundcard not detected

Hi,

Have a HP 4890.se that was delivered with Vista and a Creative X-Fi SB0670.

Well I want my WinXP problem is that the drivers don't work.
Followed the instruction with the ISO and the modification with no luck.
I checked the HP Vista driver support.cab and saw the following text.

[Hardware.Map10]
ID = 05000020, 05000021, 05000022, 05000023, 05000024, 05000025, 05000026, 05000027, 05000028, 05000029, 0500002B, 05100003

Is this the only trigger for the driver to recognize the SB card?
Tried to update the .cab file but no luck. Got error.
I unpacked with winrar but how to create a .cab that the installer will except?

Please help.

Pissed

Ok

I got the X-FI cd and the mod. Added the support folder to Audio/setup(as stated in the readme). Still get the no hardware found which support this driver, yadayda. The readme says that agree to overwrite when prompted but i get no owerwrite question.

Do i place the mod wrong in some way?

Are you supposed to place the "support" in the audio/setup folder unrared?

EDIT:

Problem solved

WinXP X-Fi drivers for hp d4890.se

Here is something for Grimmyn. I also have an hp d4890.se and none of the solutions here worked for me. But now I finally found something that worked. The solution requires a recovery partition for the original Vista installation that came with the Computer. This is how I solved it: 1 Download the X-Fi original CD image and burn to CD. 2 Copy CD to harddrive to e.g. C:\CD\. 3 Replace the C:\CD\Audio\Drivers with :\hp\Drv\APP24712\offline_driver\Audio\Drivers 4 Copy :\hp\Drv\APP24712\offline_driver\Audio\Setup\CTOem .cfg to C:\CD\Audio\Setup 5 Run C:\CD\Setup.exe Good luck

Interesting "workaround" good job. Unfortunately for me i removed Crap-Vista before i made the recovery discs for my d4896.se. I have got my card to work though(probably not with the effects there, but what the hell). I used:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...reg_R1002_USEN

And used the drivers(.inf file etc) by manually adding them in the device manager.
