Problems with "cracking/static" while making an mp3 to cda..

I've been trying to create a few CD's from MP3's of mine. Most are at 320 or 192.

I use Nero 7, the cd burns out fine, but most tracks have static when I listen to them at medium to high volume on my car sound system. Should I try normalizing it?

Edit: Normalization did nothing.

I do not hear any distortion or static even maxed out on my good headphones on the pc. But in my car any CD that I make (using nero 7) gets static when I attempt to put any volume on it. It's not the sound system, as retail CD's do not do this.

I have a 6 Speaker Monsoon system (high end - not crap) in the car...

I'm using Memorex CD-R media..

Update:
Well after finding a new program called DeepBurner, NOT using my external cd drive, and using HP Lightscribe CD-R's instead or Memorex the problem is cured. No distortion and they sound like retail CD's.

I'm going to guess that it's the Memorex media. But I guess it could be the external drive since it does have many hours of burning done.

Could also be the USB interface as well.

Could also be Nero, can't remember if they EVER got it properly fixed, but there were a LOT of MP3 decoding problems, people putting older versions of DLLs on to fix it, etc.

The critical change may well be the recording program.

burrrn.net - The home of Burrrn and Mr QuestionMan » Burrrn
Burrrn is also worth a look, another free program that does one thing, Audio Cd, and does it well.
