4 SVCD's on one DVD-r ??

I have a 4cd set here of one movie. total size is 3.1Gb. What I would like to do is put all 4 SVCD's onto one DVD-r but how can I get my standalone DVD player to read the seperate SVCD movies on the DVD. will it work?? or is there some way to put a menu of which SVCD to play? any ideas?

What you want to do isn't really that difficult. Use something like VCDGear to rip the movies from
your cd (s) . Then use TMPGenc to merge the resulting streams. Then author the dvd using your favorite software. Your ready to burn your dvd

Here's a guide with a good overview SVCD to DVD

This guide uses Mainconcept to encode the mpeg to a dvd compliant one. I've also used TMPGenc to do the encoding with good results. I'm not sure what app you use to author DVD but you may have to demux the resulting mpeg file since some apps will only work with sound in certain formats. TmpEnc DVD Author used in the above guide does not require this added step.

A dvd with multiple titles isn' much more difficult. Your dvd author app should let you import multiple tracks. Then all you need is a simple menu. Which you also should be able to create in your dvd authorware. What author app will you be using ?????

as I'm the newb to this I have not tried any! but I do have nero 6 and this new dvd burning package add on bit for it.... think its Nero Vision express 2 .....

Shuki. I think you can make serperate tracks for each movie.. But I don't know for sure.

Shuki nero vision express should do what you want. I've not used it myself but have glanced at the manual.
There should be no problem importing multiple tracks and creating a menu. Some users have reported troubles when importing avi/divx/xvid files ( this is supposed to work since nerovision has a built in transcoder). It would probably be best to have your source(s) already converted to dvd format using something like tmpegenc .

Right, I create those anime-dvd's for my dad frequently with NVE, it's easy, just drag whatever you need to the DVD, choose your favorite menu and customize buttons, texts etc... NeroVision Express is really useful application. If there's a program like it for Linux, please ppl let me know!

I've also tried to do this with Nero Vison express, but it I was missing;

· MPEG-2/DVD De-/Encoder
· MPEG-2/SVCD De-/Encoder
· Dolby Digital (AC-3) 2.0 De-/Encoder

I can buy those on the Nero web page, but is there similiar programs that are free.
I want to watch the movies or whatever I have in my DVD.

Get TMPGEnc, Nero, Adobe Premiere, and Virtual Dub and you can do ANYTHING (7 complete movies is the most I've seen, btu they were fairly shotty quality)...but still....7 complete movies on a DVD with a nice little menu to pick which oen to watch is awesome

canopus procoder is pretty nice also

has presets for pal and ntsc and also for dvd/svcd and so on

afther it is processed..just burn with nero
