DVD volume?

WTF is the matter with my DVD volume? Is there some setting I'm missing? Every time I try to play a DVD on my PC the sound is real low when I use my headphones.
Any ideas?

It has to do with how the audio is encoded. DVD audio is really designed to be pushed through a receiver and into a surround sound system. Playing DVDs on a computer almost always results in a low volume. I think some DVD playing software can compensate, but most don't.

Whenever I rip DVDs, after converting the audio stream to MP3, I use a program called MP3Gain to increase the volume level to what I consider "normal".

Thanks for the reply, I thought it had something to do with the PC.
They play just fine in my home system, But sometimes when the house is full of kids,
I just like to set in my gameroom in the dark with my headphones on and watch a DVD.
I went out and got the new X-Men just for that reason
