Is it possbible to copy an audio track from an DVD-Video to the harddrive?? I want a certain audio track that only is on the DVD-Video.

Well, I bougt a DVD & CD with Linkin Park "Live in texas" it was bundled, both the cd and also the DVD, but on the DVD there is more tracks (the good ones) wich is not on the CD so thats why I wanted to copy these tracks from the DVD to maybe my HD or to burn to a cd. Is this possible?

I'm gonna try this by memory, it should work out. First you need to write down what chapters on the DVD contain the songs you want.

OK, download SmartRipper. (use a search engine to find it)
Insert your DVD and start your regular DVD player, then close it after it starts playing
Now Start SmartRipper.



(1) Click Movie, under Rip Method.
(2) Under Source, the Input tab, Title/ProgramChain/Angle box: look for the biggest Title (most MB's), and click on its Angle.
(3) In the Chapters box, only leave the box for the first song you're ripping checked (you'll have to do each chapter separately) Un-check the rest.
(4) Now click the Stream Processing tab, and check the Enable Stream Processing box.



(5) Un-check every stream except the Audio stream you want to use. Then click on that one, and select Demux to extra file, on the right.
(6) Now choose a folder to save that track in, under Target (you'll need to save each track in a separate folder)
You should end up with a bunch of files in that folder, the only one you need is the AC3 file. Delete the rest.

Repeat (3) thru (6) for each track you want to rip, remember to select the appropriate Chapter for each one, and to save each in a separate folder (or else old ones wil be over-written. If you get through all this fine, let me know, and we'l take it from there.

I used a program called "DVD Audio Ripper" to get songs off a Music Video DVD for my dad. It works alright except I couldn't get the last few songs. No big loss though.

Why not just open your recording applet that came with your soundcard, select "WAV" as the source, and hit 'RECORD' at the appropriate time? Seems so much simpler. . .

Rasta, that would involve digital to analog to digital conversion; I'd like to keep it purely digital.

OK, all that's left is to convert the AC3 files to CD WAV format.

Download BeSweet 1.5 and BeSure 1.2 from this page. (found under audio tools)
Unzip them to a handy location, then start BeSure.



On the Besweet Settings tab, Make sure Normalize is checked, and also select the CDDA option.



Then click on the Files and folders tab.
(1) First, you need to enter the path to the Besweet.exe you unzipped earlier. Browse to the location you saved it.
(2) Set these two folders: the first is a temp working folder, the second is the final folder where your WAV files will be saved.
The Logfile is optional, it's up to you if you want it.
(3) Now, to select the AC3 files you'll be converting, click in Input files. A new box opens for selecting multiple files. Click on Add, and browse to where your 1st AC3 file is, and add it. Then, add the rest of the AC3 files the same way. Once you have your whole list of AC3's added, click OK.
(4) You're ready to convert them, just click the Go button.

That's it! You should have a number of WAV files in the Final Output Folder you set, listen through them to make sure they're OK.
Then you can put them on a CD
