Video Editing - HELP!!

What is the best audio/video editing software. I have a 400MB RAW format and want to use my XVID codec and also put some muci over the top of the clip.. What is the best app out there?

System Specs

Pinnacle 8 is good, but takes alot of memory to run....even on my beast it sometimes slows drastically.

digerati will become famous soon enough

Premeire Pro, AKA Premeire 7, but it takes some prior video editing skills to be able to use it with ease I'd say.

I prefer Pinnacle myself for everyday stuff..version 9 is pretty nice too.

I also use Vegas once in awhile as well.
