digerati will become famous soon enough

For small compression sizes use Divx or Xvid, personally I prefer xvid, but to each their own.

If it's animation you can even use realplayer, that codec has come a long way.

Realvideo encoder or I believe it's called helix encoder or something for realplayer. For the avi types I use VirtualDub or Nandub.

ok, their are other ways of doing this, but i find this way to be simple.

....

go here http://www.doom9.org/software2.htm
download the two files,

Quicktime plugin for TMPG - allows you to convert MOV to MPG/AVI in TMPG

TMPGEnc - note: MPEG-2 support expires after 30 days unless you live in the future . Website

that will allow you to convert MOV files into MPEG files. you can use mpeg1 or 2 (ver 2 for 30 days, unless reged).
then take it into www.virtualdub.com and convert it from mpeg2 or 1 (virtualdubmod might work for ya too), then folow this tutorial basically
http://www.tacticalcenter.net/index....d=10&Itemid=37
cause your going to want to use two pass and an mp3 codec.

2 pass reduces size and makes good quality.
