HDTV to MPG2

I have some HDTV VideoLan TS files I would love to convert to a DVD (MPG2) but I am not sure how and what to use to do the task. Even if I have to use linux, I will. Please help.

I don't have experience with that, but I found this on a Google search:

Have you already tried it?

I just tried it with no luck of converting it. I tried saving it to several different locations. I bet there is a protection scheme somewhere.
