Dvd X-CopyXpress

I'am planning to buy this software as I heard that this is the best software for being able to make your own backup copies of your movies.

But I wonder, is it working with new movies as well, I mean how long is this program going to work.

There must be a day when the software can't do backups of your movies due to new copy protection.

Is this software only for copy DVD;s or can you also make your home movies on a DVD??

yes it still works for backups - I use platinium which has express included in the package and everything copies so far. Its not really geared for making DVDs with chapters etc - you are better using Nero visionexpress or a program like that for mastering your own DVDs.

Last time I checked 321 Studios was under lawsuit and their software has been hacked to avoid total shutdown. It will burn your movie but it wont rip it. Save your money and just download DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink. I have bought the DVDXCopy software but I find myself using the free stuff, go figure.
Download both from here

I saw that lawsuite thing coming and bought an unhacked version before they took them off the shelves. So I have a WARNING to other people who bought the "unhacked version". If you have a firewall like zone alarm, make sure to NOT LET DVDXCOPY have access to the internet. It will automatically download an update that will keep it from "backing up" your DVDs. Keep it in it's original state, no access. For everyone who bought it afterwords, too late.

DVDShrink + DVDDecrypter are both really good programs, both free and they do the job well

I concur.

You may want to look into AnyDVD + Intervideo DVD Copy 2 combination. AnyDVD circumvents copy protection while Intervideo DVD Copy 2 is just a solid copying program which is supposed to be DVDShrink 3.2. I personally have not gone through the trouble with analyzing the two programs and their results.

If you're looking for free, I'd go for DVDShrink 3.2. On top of a simple authoring utility and the ability to reduce DVD9 down to DVD5.
