theres a great program called DVD shrink. its completely free and is really simple. it analyses your dvd and then you can choose how much you want it to compress, or it does it automatically to fit onto one disk. definitely have a look at it

edit: here you go http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html

hi guys, just installed dvd shrink but havent got a clue how to use it???

it says something about getting 100% on the right and side before you can copy the whole dvd ?
all i can get is 75% out of 100% and it comes out file to still too big to fit onto disk when i try to make a backup copy???
can anyone help me by telling me what im doing wrong???

Select open disc, make sure under compression settings tab, video, select automatic. Select backup, target device, under select backup target, drop down menu, burn with nero or in my case I select create ISO image file and burn with dvd decrypter. I had nero demo installed but found out I could do it with dvd decrypter and uninstalled nero demo. I also didn't know for sure if when the demo ran out, if the burn capability of nero would also run out. Nero seemed to burn them quicker. I have cyberlinks power whatever 5 suite installed but it's too complicated for big dummy like me to figure out.

If it is saying it is still to big you need to hit the re-author tab after you open the disk, and remove all the extras(added sound support, languages) only select the main movie (Title 1) and try it that way, you will loose the menus/extras but you will have a dvd that you can burn to a single 4.7 disk.
