DVD Sound Problem

Hi

I have XP Pro O/S. When i play a DVD Video using the Pioneer DVD-RW Drive and windows media player version 9.00.00.3250, the picture is perfect, but there is no sound.
If i play a Music CD in the same drive, the sound works fine.

The Hard drive has just been formated, and the O/S reinstalled.

Can anybody help on this please.

Welcome to DriverHeaven

Is that DVD disk an original "silver" or a copied "gold" disk? If it's a copied disk, check it again to see if the audio stream you're trying to hear exists on the disk

Have you tried any other player? (e.g. PowerDVD, WinDVD)

Check the sound settings of your movie as well. Make sure you don't select DTS sound
