DVD Ripping?

Kind of a newb on the subject but...

I have The Incredibles DVD but I don't wanna have to put the DVD in my PC everytime I wanna watch the Jack Jack Attack scene .... how do I rip it ?

and YES I own the DVD... Future Shop had it for 23.99$ CDN

You need a DVD ripper to convert DVD to AVI.

imTOO DVD ripper is a good one

the record button stays greyed out no matter what settings i use

I don't blame you, look for a free program called DVDshrink http://www.filemirrors.com/search.sr...ink32setup.zip

it will pul it off onto your HDD in DVD format and you can even drop the
quailty to make it a lesser size

if you want tp compress in Dvix or Xvid look for a program caled "auto gardian knot"

well the bonus disk comes up to over 6 gigabytes ... I was thinking of a program that'll allow me to keep just the 4 and a half minute episode of Jack Jack Attack on my computer .... Because frankly I don't really care much for the "making of" in 18 different languages and so on....

pepiman if you use the DVDShrink program after you open the DVD or the DVD files you have an option to "Re-Author the DVD." If you select this option you then can selectively rip sections of the movie to your hard drive by taking the main movie in the right side of the screen and drag and dropping it into the area under "DVD" just above the preview screen of the program. Then where you see the words "DVD compillation" look to the extreme right and you will see two horizontal lines with arrows pointing right and left inside them. This is the "Set start/end frames" and when you click it you will be able to set exactly the beginning of the scene you want and the end and only rip that section.

As already, re-author/edit the clip you require with shrink

Use autogordianknot, its the best... + its free.
First read tutorial carefuly, download what you need and RIP it...
