Mpeg 4 video won't play

Okay so i downloaded and installed 3ivx but it can't play the video only the sound and has an error message like "can't download appropriate decompressor".

What am i doing wrong and what can i do about it?

did you run gspot codec checker to verify the codec its using? what program are you trying to run this video file via? did you try installing DIVX?
