cubase recording problem
I just installed cubase SE on my laptop, Im using an ac79 soundcard and xp.
when i record enable a track all the other tracks playing are then record in to it. so for example i have two tracks one is a beat and the second is record enabled for vocals but the second track records my vocals and also the beat from track1. I have tryed everything I can think of to remedy this problem but nothing has worked could this be a sound card issue? I have used the version of cubase on two other machines and never have encountered this problem before. |

You have to select the correct input for that track (mic or line in). Check the windows mixer and see if they are selected and see your Vst Inputs under Devices in your cubase.

Agreed. Sounds like you have selected the "Stereo Mix" as the input for that track in the windows mixer (nvidia mixer in my case) instead of "Mic In". That means it will record everything that is coming out of your system (Cubase output, mic output, line in output etc.). Select "Mic In" as the input with your windows mixer and check under the VST Connections in Cubase. Should solve it.
