Problems w/ MP3s in Games and Such
I am not sure when this started happening exactly, but I am pretty sure it had to do w/ the install/uninstall of the K-lite codec pack. I can play MP3s in windows media player, nero showtime, or any programs like that, but if a game or something is trying to play an MP3 it wont work.
For example, when I load up Madden 2006 it attempts to play MP3s and the game freezes up for a long time while attemtping to play the files. Also, I have a golf game where the background music are MP3s and the game doesnt freeze or anything, but the music doesnt work. Finally I have an alarm clock on my PC that I can set to play MP3s and whenever it goes off the sound isnt working on that either. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the K-lite pack w/o any success. Does anyone know which codec I need or which codec is not working properly? Thanks Kevin Edit: I tried removing and readding the Fraunhofer codec and also removing it and replacing it w/ LAME ACM MP3 w/ no luck. Here is what I have installed right now. Microsfot ADPCM Microsoft CCITT G.711 Microsoft GSM 6.10 LAME ACM MP3 msg723.acm Windows Medai Spiro Lab Telecom Indeo audio software MSN Messenger Microsoft PCM converter IMA ADPCM
