DVD player softwares

I installed PowerDVD 6.0. but realized that subtitles are displayed over the image when in fullscreen, not in the lower black bar like regular dvd players do. So, do you guys know of any dvd player software that allows you to set subtitles in the lower black bar, or somewhere in between.
I need this because my regular dvd player does not convert from pal to ntsc, so the only way I'm able to see these dvds is connecting my pc to my television set, using the dvd-rom. But subtitles are displayed over the image using powerdvd

I personally use Intervideo's WinDVD 6.0. Isn't there an option to adjust the location of the subtitles?
