AWOMO Bandwith Usage
Hi,
I have recently downloaded the free full version of Rome Total War from AWOMO, and I was quite excited finding the game for free. I had always been meaning to purchase the game, after picking up the demo CD at a store a few years ago. Amazingly it works fine on my PC (8MB GFX FTW! ), but I'm wondering if AWOMO games use up internet bandwith/usage, when you play the game, as the game isn't physically installed on the computer, and requires an internet connection for gameplay. If it does, about how much does it use?I'm worried that it might eat up all my usage, which doesn't come cheap, and unlimited (or fast for that matter) around these parts. I was also wondering if AWOMO still needs Beta testers (I sent in an application, but haven't received a reply yet). Thanks Tanka12345

Re: AWOMO Bandwith Usage
It has to get the game data somewhere, so YES, it does download them from the Internet.
By default C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GDP\Cache\AWOMO is the place where it stores them. From hundreds of megabytes to few gigabytes. If you play the game longer, it needs more data and they are downloaded on when-needed basis. (At least it was so with "Rome") - edit - I just tried with Tomb Rider. AWOMO downloads ~600MB of data first before starting the game and when you start it using [Launch] it starts downloading more depending on your choice (new game or Croft Manor). After selecting Croft Manor AWOMO downloads additional 1.1GB of data before continuing. Those 1.7GB seem to be ~1/4 of total game data. You can guess how much data is needed watching the bar at the top of AWOMO web Blue = total game data, Dark Grey = data needed at this stage of the game, Green = data being downloaded for current game stage.
