you should feel the heat from the system with that kind of temp, yes?
the stock Intel heatsink with fan is more than good enough if you want to use it , or use it before you can find a better replacement for it. but with that kind of temp, there is definitely something is going wrong. i suggest you shutdown/turn off the computer, remove the board from the computer case, and then remount the CPU cooler, you must make sure that each of the 4 pronged fasteners are gripped properly. and if the CPU temp does not get any better you may want to consider testing the CPU and the motherboard further, so that you can decide whether or not you should send the items back for a replacement. |

I really suggest you remount the cooler Teme....there is something seriously wrong with those temps. And my only explanation is bad contact..

That's because the low reading is taken from the motherboard sensor, and the higher "real" values is from the internal diod on the CPU...

you know, sometimes i wonder if that paste that comes with the heatsinks is the same stuff you can get from the junk you see on the grill after cooking meat....
why cant they package Shin-Etsu compound with the heatsinks? it shouldnt cost too much.....

problem solved the cooler wasn't firmly in place, it had some shavings or what ever in a way in the locking system on one of the things so I cleared that and aplied arctic ceramique and now temps are around 25C for each core idle...

now THAT'S a temperature drop now just test your chip just in case something is damaged.

lol, nah nonsense, the stock heatsink and thermal compound that comes with boxed retail C2D are not that bad. and this is not an overclock system yet.

yea.... i know that the stock heatsink is a decent item, simple to produce and good. but i wish there is the extra couple bucks/cents to get a compound that'll make the chip last longer....

start overclock the FSB and CPU to about 20%
here's with all Vcore, PCIe and FSB are at stock volts, just up MCH from 1.25V to 1.35V (because 4 sticks of RAMs and a shorter timings are in use). and the E6750 is with the stock Intel heatsink/fan but using MX-2 thermal paste.
