Overclocking is awsome!
I think this is a good score for my system running 3dmark01. here is my setup:
P4 1.4ghz @ 1.53 Bus speed : 440mhz Radeon 9600 pro @ 526/320 and ATi 4.8 beta maxtor 120gb harddrive 3dmard01 score: 9535 I think this is good for my system. Is it? Also i was unable to overclock the CPU any more that 1539mhz. I would like to because it runs at 45c at load overclocked. Also the Vcore is at 1.7. If i increased the Vcore could i overclock the CPU more? Thanks |

I wouldn't increase your Vcore any futher, any more than 1.75v and your asking for trouble on a P4, are you sure its not the memory that is capping it?

why are you not useing the newer 4.9 beta?
my amd 2500+/ 1.83 ghz 333 fsb gets about 12,000 with the same cardstock you needat lest 512ram and see if you board will support an cpu upgrade for 50-100 you could get a large boost

I have tested the 4.9 drivers and the 4.8 beta's are faster for me. they are even faster then omega drivers. i have 512 mb or ram also. besides you computer is faster @ 1.83 and the doesnt the 2500 mean it runs like a P4 2.5ghz? i can get a P4 1.8 ghz in this mother board but im upgrading to a athlon64 3000+ system soon

Read this for voltage maxes
Al Vampyre is right not to go past 1.7 V if you were running on a Northwood, but you're running on a Willamette core and they can withstand up to 2.10 V. (Most mobos won't let you touch above 2 V) I've ran my 1.7 GHz at 1.95V to hit 2.0 GHz before So will you be able to reach higher speeds with higher VCore? Yes. 45 C isn't high for full load on a CPU, I'd consider it moderate.
