benching my card
hi, i was just wondering if it was safe to bbench my card if i have no fans, a crappy card (TNT) and no "windows seal" thing?
this is a stupid question but i am a noob
don't laugh plx..

should i aqua mark 3 it?

and can i bench programs like photoshop 8 CS?

you can bench it, it will just score low...the geforce4 mx440 i had only got 400 or so 3dmarks in 2003.

no.. but it'll take awhile for it to respond in some test... (if you want to exit.. hitting escape may take about 5 or 10 seconds to actually do anything depending on system resources and the amount it's taxing)..

if it crashes.. (simple reboot or boot to desktop).... you probably have a stability issue...

as for your TNT.... you are only going to be able to run the 1st test and the first cpu benchmark..... that'll be all in 3dmark03... 3dmark01 you should be able to run alot more...

that card is ment to run 3dmark2000 or 3dmax 99

check that link... explains a bit.... but the benchmark really doesn't have anything to do with the video card or audio.... it's pure HD/CPU/RAM benchmark

i tried dling those, but they are discontinued. should i just go ahead with aquamark 3? or try a later version of 3d mark?

you can still run them.. you just can't upload the results.... (they will still spit out a 3dmark score)

just try the latest version of 3Dmark01, it won't score high but at least you can benchmark all tests whereas 3Dmark03 will probably skip most tests because your card does't support the functions being tested.
