There is a countdown of the 3dmark05 release. does anyone know what the letter (a "D" at the moment) in front of the countdown means?

so far they have the letters O W N D
before they where guessing that it meant Own Wednesday Night. but now with this D, i have no idea.

nah, it takes 27.5 hours between each letter. the first was o .. looked like a zero and i was hoping it'd be out on sunday (or was it saturday.... well it doesnt matter). the guesses on futuremarks website are for the letters to be an anagram of DOWNLOAD, but if you look at the source code, they only have the current letter, so when it gets to zero they are changing the letter, so can choose whatever they like and keep us waiting.....argh! the suspence is killing me!

they said a rough estimate on guessing your score for 05 was to take your 03 score, and cut it in half, and take a little bit more off. going by that, i should do 4800ish. ill be happy if i even hit near that.

yeah, what do yah reckon... in the 900s maybe for me. oh, btw the counter no longer has letters before it, so im guessing about 2 pm here in the UK tomorrow for download. wont run well at all, but i like the eye candy

havnt been amazed by anything since farcry so hopefully this'll be good

If you don't have the LATEST hardware available on the market then 3DMark 05 will just tell you that your computer sucks basically; even though it can handle ANY REAL piece of software (i.e. game) on the market. 3DMark 05 is more fluff; I'll be waiting for Madonion's 3DMark 2001 SE2. j/k

the counter probably will stop at the 29th of this month at 3PM CET, that's when the NDA is lifted.

same here but i got an explanation from Zardon saying he'd rather not post info from the inq because they don't sign NDA's and apparently other "more legit" sites will have articles up today as well.
