My 9500-9700 was Oc'd to 315/360
I saw someone with a 9700pro 512mb ram and had 19k!!...maybe its my ram
I have geil ultra dual channel ram@225FSB.

Probably going to be Drivers before it is something like RAM. 3Dmarks is far to GPU reliant for it really to be anything else. When I run my RAM in Dual Channel or Single Channel, I pretty much get the Same scores. Same with the RAM timings.

Possibly your CPU holding you back a bit. tastyweat had a bit of a hard time breaking 20k with his overclocked AMD and 9800Pro.

my 9700 gets over 20,400

I only said "possibly", I don't know for sure. You can certainly try pushing your 9800 higher, maybe upgrade the cooling to help with that.

I do know when comparing my score to a 2426MHz AthlonXP with a 9800Pro at 470/380, it's:
AthlonXP/9800 - 20089
vs
Athlon64/9700 - 20461
my A64 was at 2210 MHz and 9700 at 390/350

I wonder though, did you do a fresh install of Windows when you upgraded your card?

No, mine was the 9700 at 390/350

A fresh install can do wonders, and is highly recommended for graphics card upgrades.

A lot of people use and like the ATI Silencer: What is a good gpu cooler?

Radeon 9800 SE boards are truely crap, they run about the same as a 9500 board, which is really slow, they are about half the performance of the 9800 Pro boards, so its likely the 9700 is faster.

i got an athon 64 3400+ and a Radeon 9800XT and i get about 20200 marks.

Awesome score on a AIW 9700pro.

To my best knowledge, the AIW series does not perform as well as the non-AIW series cards. It's like 10% less of a performer than it's counterpart. Is that true Vampy?

System Specs

No, as far as I know, they are evenly matched. The AIW 9700Pro had the same core/mem clocks as the plain 9700Pro, same #of pixel pipes, same #of mem controllers. Some AIW's after that even had higher clocks than their plain counterparts

CrapolaJola is on a distinguished road

Here's a an eas yway for many free points. Install Win2k with DX8.1 (don't install DX9 gives lower scores). Then use the new tweak discovered by the guys over at XtremeSystems. Go into device manager and change your computer from ACPI Uniprocessor to ACPI Multiprocessor, apparently increases heatout at idle (load is about same), but it gives a very nice FPS boost in 2001.
