poor 3dmarks :( for new x800xt

My system seems to be performing a little sub par. I just finished it, but the scores seem to be a few thousand points low. System summary, 939 3200+, gig of ram, sapphire x800xt. I am getting 9348 in 03 and around 3900 in 05. These are OK scores, but seem a few thousand short of where they should be. This is a brand new system as well, and I have done all the tweaks I can think of.

are you sure you've installed all the AGP drivers for your system? I had a similar problem when i built my p4 rig. I had forgotten to install my AGP drivers. After i installed my AGP drivers, my scores went up about 3k or so in 3Dmark03.

I think his pc is pci-express, not agp.

I dunno why u are scoring low.

my 3dmark03 : 12185

my 3dmark05 : 5587

Have u got doom 3?

if so try doing the benchmark. I run doom 3 in 1280x1024, x4 AA + x8 AF, high ingame setting.

my timedemo demo1 : 62fps

to do the benchmark load doom 3 and bring down console when u get to main menu. ( press ctrl+alt, hold them and then press '`' )

then type : timedemo demo1

press enter and it will run. Run it twice and take the 2nd score.

The ones for from MSI. The ATI drivers are the one for the video card itself.

What motherboard is it? MSI nForce based board? If it's an nForce board then get nVidia's Unified Driver.

Download the latest Catalayst from Ati, you got a x800xt and it should be the best one for your card....if you want just download the driver, forget about control panel, i always use atitool to do the settings.....check if vsync is of, turn a.i to high, no aa, no af, texture preference and mipmap detail at High Performance.
You can download just the driver here (8.5MB):
