Still more questions about 3DMARK05 & benchmarking...
1st of all have any of you heard anything about 3DMARK05 "going sorta whack-o" when useing a 2 GFX card SLI system?I understand why we banchmark,in short, the way I figure it, it's pretty much a "bragging rights"kinda thing.Lets see who's system can beat who's.But my question is ,what good is it?)My SLI rig will benchmark useing 3DMARK05 at around 9200 points. And for an SLI system I dont know if thats good or bad.If someone could tell me I would appreciate it.Anyway,at 9200 it will run 3DMARK05 but wont run any games!I have to crank it down to run HL2{it's the only game I have loaded on the rig at the moment.I dont buy alot of games. Most just dont appeal to me}Although the next month or so I'm looking forward to the next"Splinter Cell" and there's a couple of WWII type of games coming that I am looking forward too.I hope I'm making sence here.....The bottom line is,What good are these benchmarking tools if some of them wont run in "the real world"?....Thanks guys!God Bless!!!And also,I still cant get my SLI rig to run with but 1 set of drivers. The new ones nVIDIA put out last Friday wont even work. And the folks at BFG are saying I am not nearly the only 1 with the problem.

a buddy of mine has two eVGA 6800Ultras in SLI. On his heavily OCed system he's getting around 9800pts. in 3Dmark05. So for your system, your score is fine (that is if you're not OCing anything).
As more and more games come out, they for the most part will be supporting SLI, and if they don't, i'm sure that the developer will release a patch for the games in order to support SLI. Try a different set of drivers for your system if the officials are giving you too many problems. It's the only thing that i can suggest right now. |
