Confused about Aquamark3 Scores

I had not benched my PC for several months, but a guy in my bowling league sold me a brand new stick of 512 RAM for $20 so I decided to bench again. Normally in Aquamark I used to get between 29, 700 - 31,000. After I put the memory in I scored less than 21k. What I dont understand is that everything else on my PC is MUCH faster and I had HUGE gains in FarCry and the farcry bench (20+ fps). I went from playing farcry at 1024x768 on medium-low (and it was almost unplayable) to playing at 1280x1024 on med-high w/ much higher fps. I just redownloaded aquamark so I was wondering if they changed something I cant figure out how I would lose almost 10fps?

1GB pc2100
Audigy 2 ZS
XP Pro SP2
9700 pro AIW

is AA/AF off in ati CP? make sure other programs arent running, etc. Defrag, scan for spyware.

I thought maybe there was some AA/AF setting on in my CP as well but it doesnt appear to be and I didnt change any settings from when I ran the FarCry bench. Also when I ran FarCry I had tons of stuff running in the background (I was downloading a file on dial up). I tried defragging, a fresh reboot, and shutting down everything before running Aquamark and it still performed very bad. Im going to try either the Unian or NGO drivers while i wait for omega, see if that makes a difference.

is the new stick of ram the same speed as your other? if its slower thats your problem.

I think that I might of had a slightly corrupt driver install even though other games were working ok. I removed the Official 5.6's did some major driver cleaning and installed the NGO 5.6's and got about 30k w/o any overclocking and I had other stuff going on in the background. The memory is the same speed as the stick I have (PC2100).
Although this is off topic, CPU-Z is showing the new stick as PC2700, but it was brand new unopened and on the package it was very clearly marked PC2100. It is running at 2100 speed though.
