ATI or Nvidia

Can someone tell which graphic card I should buy ?
I'm considering Asus Ati Radeon 9600XT 128mb or Asus Nvidia 6600GT 128mb.
Ati has better OpenGL but nvidia has everything else better, so, how much
is OpenGL important ?
Please, help me

Sandok will become famous soon enoughSandok will become famous soon enough

NV has better openGL and ATI is better at the rest. But in your case, 6600GT OWNS that 9600 XT... You got your info really messed up!

Yeah sandok is right the 6600 flat out destoys the 9600, you are comparing two cards that weren't even meant to compete with each other at all, and if they are the same price at the store you are looking at, shop at a different store, there should be a $50-$75 difference between those 2 cards.

6600GT hands down when comparing those two cards. However, if you were thinking of getting a 9800XT or 6600GT then it would be really close.

It would probably be x700 vs. 6600 for a better battle, about the same prices too, x700 lower of course.

this is only true if you are comparing the 9800XT to the 6600GT PCI-E. If you are comparing the 9800XT vs. 6600GT AGP, then where's the futureproof in that?

becuase the 6600gt is designed on a much newer core & supports more advanced features. the 9800 is basically the same core as the late great 9500. while a terrific cpu design in its day it is rather dated & will continue to fall behind with newer game releases.
