finally got around to getting a new bios... DDR booster isn't working yet, so still crappy FSB

but still nice clocks.. this is up from 1.86GHz

anyways pic speaks for itself.

my best has been like 33 seconds w/my chip OCed to 4Ghz

2.85. I know it can do 2-2-2-11 @ 240 with 3.3V, thats what it did on my DFI Ultra Infinity board.

thats insane!, why is this thing so sweet a processor? there has to be sumthin goin on in the architechture as it cant just be a lower power consuming, cooler running mobile version of the the p4's?? plz tell

the P-M is more like an A64. based on the pIII, it has WAY less pipes than the p4s have, and the instruction cycle is set to be very efficient. so efficiency = greater power

. Though it's only a single threaded CPU, when it comes to benching or gaming (like tulc here has been demonstrating), it makes your rig fly compared to other rigs.

clock for clock a Pentium M is quicker in games. Which usually is the reason someone buys an AMD64. And its like 1/3 the price.

hey tulc, that P-M you have, isn't it a 479 socket? i'm pretty sure that they are, but you own one, and you would obviously know if is or isn't

. if it is, how did you get it to fit in your 478 MoBo?

Ya its S479. I am using an Asus CT-479 ( this ). It allows you to use S479 cpu's in almost all Asus motherboards with Intel 865 and 875 chipsets. However they only offically support P4P800SEs and P4C800-E's. You can also use it on their 910GL/S479 board, the P4GD1. Which is sadly unavailable in north america. So if i want to use PCI-e i am going to need to fork out ~$300 for a motherboard shipped from the UK.

OCZ winbound value VX - 2-2-2-5

i get bloody 52 on the 1m test.

On the 32m test, i get 40 minutes.

is my cpu dead?

no.. athlon XP's aren't that good at superpi. I got 37 seconds, and that was @ 2700MHz, 245FSB, 2-2-2-11.

and btw you should have your TRAS @ 11 not 5. Its been proven to work better on nforce 2 boards.
