Benchmark way lower than should be, cpu problem?

Well after i got my CPU back up to speed and replaced the PSU with a 500w one, my score is a tiny bit better but still under 5k, I'm wondering if I should try exchanging the card, maybe this card was suppose to be a vanilla 6800 and somehow got through QC, who knows.

Anyone have some other bright ideas

what is the temp of the card when playing games or running the benchmarks? What is the cooling solution like on the gfx card? That would also be a factor into your rig's performance if the cooling on your gfx card is insufficient.

It's a BFG graphics card "OC" edition with a huge copper heatsink covering memory and gpu with heatsink pipes and two fans, running at about 60c.

Doom 3 seems to be running fine. But i can't help but think that it can be running even better but something is going on, if my 3dmark score is so low =/

ok, think of it like this......how many FPS are you averaging in DOOM? if it's 40+ FPS average, then don't worry about it......well, what settings do you run DOOM at (and other games you might be playing), just to know if you should worry or not

Not sure of the actual fps but I can play doom at high at 1024 and get smooth play. I havent tried HL2 or BF2 yet.

run a program called FRAPS to give you the FPS of the games you're playing.

and w/your 6800GT, you should be able to hit 4x/8x 1600x1200 W 75hz w/image quality set to max

. That's how i played my games on my old 6800GT, and that's how i play my games on my current x800xt pe

Well I have been playing Half-Life 1 more and I have it all maxed out, even my drivers at highest qulity, and it runs beautifully.

3dMark05 still runs like crap. Just makes no sense. Now this just bugs me because I can't figure it out.

Is it just me though...BF2 runs like crap!! I even turned some settings to medium and put the resolution at 1024.

what are you honestly expecting out of your card?

it seems to me that you want your rig to perform flawlessly, which isn't going to happen. you won't ever be able to get max quality w/high FPS out of any new game. but from what i do know, the settings you're playing BF2 at, it should run like water.
