hi, i was looking through the specs of Fable: The Lost Chapters and i noticed the '64 MB shader capable video card' part. i'm not very sure about what this means so could someone explain? i'm about to buy a new com so i would like to get a video card that supports the game. what are some of the graphics cards with that function? thanks alot.

64MB means it's at least a 64MB card. "Shader capable" means just that...that the card can perform "shader" functions. I'd assume they mean in hardware...not sure if they're talking pixel or vertex(most newer performance cards will say "full", meaning both). If you get a dedicated video card, as opposed to one that exclusively uses shared memory...you'll definitely be fine. But I think even ATI was supporting it in their low end cards a few years ago...so maybe even those shared memory solutions support it by now?
I'm not sure. Find a laptop you like and just search for the name of whatever GPU is on it and "shader". You'll find a link quick enough to tell you if it's supported. I'd think most would in hardware by now...I've just not paid any attention to that lately. |
