Sad kx.sys BSOD on Master recording volume change

Hi all, i am having a problem with the drivers, i previously had ver.3537 and it now persists with 3538j.
The problem is a BSOD stating DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on kx.sys.
It occurs instantly everytime I click on the Master recording volume control (either KX's or windows').
I'm running Win2k on a k6-2 500 and a sblive 5.1 (SB0102).

Thanks in advance.

Ferow2k.

I also have the same problem. I use kx3538j drivers on Athlon XP 3000+, Epox 8RDA+, Audigy2 ZS, WinXP CoprRusSP2. When I try to change Master Volume (even not recording), I often (but not always, what strange) receive a BSOD: "driver mistakenly marked a part of it`s image pagable instead of nonpagable" STOP: 0x000000D3 KX.SYS. I reinstaled Windows but problem has stayed.
P.S. I know, my english is bad, sorry.

By the way, I noticed that problem occures more often when i connected to the internet. I checked IRQ`s but all seems to be ok - Modem use IRQ3, Sound card use IRQ5, but Nvidia nForce PCI System Management use IRQ5 also. Can it be a source of the problem?

hey
maybe this IRQ cn be this problem. in device-manager is one entry, "computer". is there ACPI-PC or Standard-PC. in w2k itīs better to switch to Standard-PC, maybe you can get the SB0102 on a seperate IRQ.

In device manager there is ACPI-PC. Frankly speaking, I don`t want to change it to Standart PC, because, first of all, I never had problems with devices which uses the same IRQ (in 2k,xp this problem is not so actual as in 9x), and second, I already used to switch off my PC with button on keyboard and when I remembering the phrase ''now you can switch off your computer" (don`t know how it actualy looks on english systems), I feel....Brrrrrr...

Continuing with problems...

Also I just found that I can't start Madtracker because of the same error (maybe it tries to change the recording volume on startup?).

Edit: The same when running DXDiag.exe... I don't think it's a configuration problem or an IRQ problem of my system...

Edit: I now updated to WinXP SP2 and the problem is gone. What I've seen different is that in Device Manager - Standard PC - IRQ Control I now have IRQ Routing enabled. Before (with win2k) It wouldn't even start if I chose to Use IRQ Control.
So maybe it was an IRQ conflict...
