I am experiencing a slight latency problem with external effects and when playing a live, using soft synths.
I have contacted MOTU and cakewalk tech support and done everything they suggest to minimize latency. Plus i have my windows and PC extremely tweaked out. People in the audience do not hear it but it's irretable to me. If I MIDI tight sounds like a piano with another piano sound it's obvious. My system is as follows:

Hi:
What kX Driver version are you using? I assume youre using some version of the kX Project Audio Driver? If you have a true SB Live! and not a SB Live 24 Bit or some other non EMU10kx sound card, and if you have truely tweaked your PC for audio programs (also see this tweak guide: http://www.musicxp.net/ ), then try kX Driver 3534f. The ASIO performance is reported to be better than driver versions released after 3534f. Here's the link to 3534f and New ProFX (including a new MX8) downloads: ProFX: http://members.home.nl/nahutec/ProFx/profx3x.htm (scroll down to where it says ProFX For 3534) 3534f Download: http://www.electricstart.de/index.htm EDIT I just thought about something. SONAR can only support ASIO for one sound card at a time. If you're using 2 or more sound cards, your SB Live is probably using the WDM driver and another sound card using the ASIO driver. That may be you latency problem. Of course, if you're using just one sound card (the true SB Live!) make sure you're using the ASIO driver mode in SONAR (Options/Audio Advanced mode ASIO set under driver mode section of the Advanced tab).

@Thomas:
I dont see a Live card - just a MOTU... ?? - I think he uses his rig for live performance - or at least thats how I inturpit his post anyway.. @OP: This forum here is meant for KX Driver users (replacement driver for SB Live/Audigy cards with a 10KX DSP) So, we prolly cant help any more than what you have already have tried... |

Because of the quote above from his post, I figured he may be using a SB Live. |

But then he also says...
' People in the audience do not hear it but it's irretable to me.' ?? who knows - but I suspect he isnt using a Live card - otherwise I suspect he would have listed the card model.. |
