kxmixer --startup Crashes

Hey, I have a problem with my current setup (on both windows 2000 and windows XP) in that the kxmixer crashes then it first runs.
If i run kxmixer --startup it crashes time and time again. But just kxmixer works fine. I think it may be related to my DSP setup, as it only occured after I made some rather sweeping changes.
Any ideas anyone

Russ is just super!Russ is just super!Russ is just super!Russ is just super!Russ is just super!Russ is just super!

What version of kX are you using?
Has it ever worked for you (since installing your current version)?
I cannot think of anything that would cause it to crash with 2 different installations on 2 different OS's, other than something going wrong with the install.
If it did work previosly (with the current installation), what exactly did you do before it stopped working (i.e. load a saved configuration (possibly from an older installation), install/register any specfic plugins or addons, change any driver settings, etc.).
What happens if you save the current DSP config, and then load the default settings and reboot?
You could try a 'Reset Global Settings', but you would have to reinstall any plugins that are not part of the installation package, etc.

Version 3537
I dont think its specific to having 2 OS's it was happening before I installed XP for DualBoot. I'm about to try various different DSP setups and reboot. When it crashes and I run KX Mixer normally then have a look at the DSP setup its normally only got like 3 srcs's and my Dynamics Processor (which is one of the new ones). I'll try swapping it out for the APS Compressor. See how it goes.

Edit: Additionally it only used to crash if KXMixer was run from the registry, seemed ok from the startup thing on the startmenu. Seems to not crash now I've changed to the APS Compressor. So maybe its related to the Dynamics Processor?

I did not mean that dual booting was a problem, what I meant was that it is strange that you have the same problem in both installations, but if a plugin is causing the problem then that would make more sense.

What version of the Dynamics Processor are you using? I did not know that there was a version for 3537 (i.e. IIRC, plugin skins was only added in 3538 (I have never really used 3537 myself)).

I have not had any problems with the Dynamics Processor in any 3538 version of kX.
Is there any reason why you are not using kX version 3538j?

only reason im not using the 3538's is because I figured I'd be better with the stable releases rather than the Debug/Beta ones. Gonna try upgrading now, keep you posted

Close any open kX Windows, and then go into kX 'Settings' and enable 'Show window content while dragging', and it should work.

See the following post from the 3538i Bug Reports thread for more info:
