"asio" or "audio"? if you use ASIO interface in the audition - make sure you set correct sample rate (kX does not allow recording at 44.1kHz - use 48kHz) |

The warning message from audition is "the audio input is not activated......". I follow the steps described in the kx help files for ASIO RECORDING...but dont work. i 'm using the asio 0-1 as input in audition. In kx dsp prolog AC97 Output is wired to epilog 0-1. I hear the signal selected as source in AC97 in my headphones all time. but record to audition some times only. thx. |

try a different ASIO pair (like 4/5) - I thought I seen some Live cards have issues with some ASIO register changing ??
Maybe Im wrong - but worth a try. |

I have some funny ASIO routing problems which show up on this system
CT4830 Win 98SE PIII 500Mhz CPU kX 3534f Kristal I don't really know if the problem is kX, the card or recording software. My kX ASIO inputs 0/1 do record correctly when 0/1 is selected from the recording program, (Kristal), but I remember I had some problem when recording ASIO 2/3 or 4/5 ?? and had to select a different corresponding input in Kristal. Also when I create a custom DSP MIDI sounds come from FX Bus 8/9 instead of 2/3 even though 2/3 is selected in the router. But I'm generally happy with the setup so I won't mess with it. |

>i am recording now, from asio 3, and de Kx DSP is wired in asio 0 and asio 1. that's very - very strange - CT4832 never had any problems with that asio channel mapping - it's just old good Live! '4.0' (i had one) and... hmmm... well, i have no explanations for such stuff - for me it looks like a new kX bug [/color] Anyone have same porblems with ct483x? btw, jurasaco could you please check if you have the right port selected as audition input? (anyway that "simetimes works simetimes not" looks strange) |

But I dont use audtion, so I cant say. But it wouldnt suprise me if it were a CPU hog? - but your system seems pretty fast, so Im thinking - search around for system optimizations. Becase for me, KX and Sonar - I can easily get 12 tracks playing and record 1 (all stereo btw) and use <10% of CPU. And latency set to 8ms. It isnt until I add VST(i)/DX(i) that my cpu load increases significantly. Audition, IIRC, is what used to be CoolEdit - I never cared for it long enough to know anything about it. There are those here using KX V3534 - as its reported its ASIO performance is the best, is stable etc... Maybe give that a try?? - but first read the change log to make sure your card model is supported, other features you may use now *could* be lost as well. Wait a minute - does it only work with ASIO4ALL - the added software layer could slow things down - does the KX ASIO not work for you?? I never used ASIO4ALL - as KX ASIO has worked for me. SO I know little about its use/demands on a system. |

Kx driver ASIO work great for me: low CPU utilization, good quality for recording, low latencie. ASIO4ALL - with 6 tracks playing and 1 track recording from line-in, High CPU utilization, regular latency. i found this info, say something about the asio issue http://members.home.nl/nahutec/kxtut...kxcubasesx.htm THANX for the help now begin the recording sessions bye |

in kx DSP asio 0 y asio 1 is wired to the source. but when y select asio 3 (as mono input in audition), work fine, i see the waveform recorded.. second time.. i push record button again in the same session, in the same track, and not work, no sound recorded. well, i try again and define asio 2 (as mono input in audition) and i can record again, extrange. finally use stereo input in audition using the asio 2 y asio 3. this solve the issue for me. regards |
