Sad BSOD during 96/32 playback via WAVE HQ (no matter: Foobar-KS/DS or Winamp)

I have such a problem: when I use 96/32 wave-hq output computer sometimes goes to BSOD after pausing or stopping playback. It is not very often, and, what worse, it’s unpredictable – sometimes you may listen for a couple of days without hanging, and sometimes you’ll have it twice a day.

My setup: A64 3800+ / 1024Mb / nForce4 / SP2 / Audigy 2 SB0240. All drivers are the latest.

Could you help me?

But you are using Kx drivers?
As stated in the last release 3538j
"kX ASIO driver re-written to support 24/96 and other formats (Audigy2 only) (EXPERIMENTAL, not yet functional)"
so i wonder how you could Use it.

If not , this is the forum of Unofficial "kx drivers" , not creative drivers ones.
So people could just tell You generic things .

The most simple thing could be a conflict between peripherals:
check if Your audigy is sharing Irq's with other devices

I see. does anybody has the same problem (using wave hq)? btw, does ANYBODY uses here "wave hq"? I remebers one of the older version of 3538 (g? h?) worked ok - no BSOD of any kind. but there were another problems (midi channels sometimes ommits notes), wich 3538j doesnt have so far

maybe it is posssible to DISABE so called "ASIO" in any kind to eradicate this problem? I do not use it

btw, what's the mess with that "ASIO"? what it is good for?

I do not have a 10k2 card, so I cannot comment about the WaveHQ issue (BTW: I am pretty sure many people use it).

As for ASIO, it is useful for real time recording and/or using VST effects or instruments in real time.

System Specs

i have a HQ enabled 10k2, but i've never seen a BSOD due to the playback formats… i'll have to do some testing though
