Problems with channels on SBLive Value/Player
I have some problems with 'channel sychronization'
(all kX drivers have them, even newest alpha) Sometimes only one channel plays, second is silent or there's no sound at all. This happens every random number of audio stream opens. You may be able to reproduce it by opening new audio streams fast. (eg. Play/Stop loop) I'll post my specs when I get back to Windows (XP Pro SP1, DirectX 9) <edit> Additional specs: Athlon XP 1700+ Gigabyte 7DX/E+ (VIA 686B, newest drivers + latency patch) 256MB DDR 266Mhz </edit> Last edited by Bedeox; Feb 18, 2003 at 07:53 PM. |

I know, but it is only a 'temporary workaround'. I'd like to see real fix in drivers.
<edit> Sorry moderators, move this thread to 'Bug reports'. Thank you for your time. </edit> |

Damn, too bad, as a matter of fact, I was just about to report the same bug.
It's been bugging me for a while...I've also noticed clicks when starting/stop playing sounds, small pops and clicks, these didn't appear with the APS drivers atleast. Also it sounds like there's a buffer which is not cleared at times. For example, if I play a part (I'm doing this in Sound Forge, in other words I can play whatever part I want from a sample) with a sinuswave, and then stops the sample, move the samplecursor to a silent part and the start playing it, I can often hear a little snippet of the sinuswave, even though it shouldn't play the sine at all. So this really sounds like some kind of buffer which hasn't been flushed... hmm Btw Eugene, I remember trying the 3520 version this summer, finding a bug; after starting/stop playing a certain amount of samples the driver started to lag and become slow. This is fixed in the more recent versions, and I'm glad it is! Thanks! ![]() // encore (the bugreporter ) ![]() Edit : Ohyeah almost forgot, when only one of the channels play in Winamp, you can also fix it by changing the volume-level in Winamp.. strange bug though.. seems like both channels are assigned to the left (or maybe right) channel. Hmm..

Forgot to mention that bug too... but it doesn't seem to happen with 3529.
