gittering recording quality in Sonar

I just recently installed the kx project driver to get my soundblaster live platinum to record decently but I am still having problems. It recorded much better (with out the gittering affect) in the microsoft sound recorder than it did before I installed the KX drivers so I was very excited on now being able to do recording but when I went into Sonar the recording quality is a little improved but it is still doing that gittering effect (thats the best I can describe it)

I am running win XP
mother board is a Abit kx7-33
cpu AMD athlon XP 200+/266 1.67GHz
memory 512 DDR
Hard Drive Western Digital wd400bb ata/100 7200 rpm 40 gig
sound card sound blaster live! platinum 5.1
graphic card AGP xtasy visiontek NVIDA Gforce

Can someone help me. I really would like to start recording now, instead of spending more money on another audio card.
